Week 41 - Happy Superbowl
Well I once again waited to the very last minute to do something. In fairness, I was busy with “stuff.” Okay, fine. I procrastinated. A LITTLE. It turns out my middle son’s wagon float for the school Mardi Gras parade didn’t magically make itself like I hoped it would and that is how I found myself sprinting the aisles at all the party stores with less than 24 hours to go. When you wait to the last minute, you get to choose from either the criminally expensive decor or the woefully picked over, everything’s sold out, you’d fight for crepe paper streamers in green, purple, OR, yellow at this point because you sure won’t get all 3, leftovers. My son wanted a Ghostbusters theme which would’ve been lovely had I had either the ambition, creativity, or funds to do it proper. AS IT WAS, our them was “whatever gold party supplies I could find at Walmart.” I finished assembly at school with 10 minutes to spare. I really am going to try to do better next time. Not going to margaritas with girlfriends the night before such a project is due will also surely help.
If Mardi Gras wagon float parades weren’t enough it was Superbowl Sunday and we were also celebrating my baby cousin’s 10th birthday. I spent most of Saturday scrambling around town getting party supplies, groceries, gifts, and the things. I was also entrusted with sourcing the strawberry cake my girl requested. It was a tough job but somebody had to do it. I’m a proud, long suffering fan of the Saints, da Bears, and now my Joey’s B’s Bengals but I’m all to happy to bandwagon for Taylor’s boyfriend. The overtime about killed me. Mom and I were texting about Taylor the entire time. Taylor walking arm in arm with Mama Kelce to go down to the field is my new Roman Empire. The makeout sesh on the field. Jason. Trav singing Viva Las Vegas. It was just perfect. And so was that strawberry cake.

Abbott Elementary Season 3 - My favorite comedy on TV these days, hands down, not even close. Gregory and Janine FOREVAH. Also, I want Ava’s bedazzled Harvard shirt.
The Bachelor - Love Daisy but Kelsey has my heart. Am I biased because she’s from New Orleans? To quote Ariana Grande, “Yes, and?!”
-
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden - Live in maid/nanny to wealthy, privileged family. What could go wrong? I loved this so much. Delightfully twisty, I couldn’t put it down.
The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden - The very second I finished the first one, I had to hunt this one down. I read it so fast. If I am honest, I liked the first slightly better but it’s a great series and well worth your time.

Life Kit: Parenting | How to talk to kids about sex, bodies, and consent - Listening to as much on this topic as I can find. Trying to desensitize myself so I can have normal, healthy conversations with my boys.
ParentData with Emily Oster | Let’s Talk Puberty Episode - Same as above! Loved this chat. Will definitely be picking up the book This is So Awkward.

Cream Cheese and Pepper Jelly with Crackers
BBQ Meatballs in the slow cooker

Cumbor Baby Gate - It’s that time again. I installed this myself like a boss because that pressure mount is so easy. I just love the auto-close feature because my older kids never remember to close it themselves.
