Week 40 - 1000
WHAT?! For reasons I cannot begin to understand or explain, my Southern Daughter video took off on the Gram a full month after I posted and I am here for it. My phone kept buzzing nonstop from the likes, comments, shares, and follows. For the first time, I had to mute my notifications. The whole week was overwhelming. I love that this resonated with so many southern folks and even other cultural backgrounds who had something similar. People shared so many stories and memories of their loved ones and '“coffee milk”. I absolutely loved reading these and sharing them with mom. Of course my own addiction to coffee milk and thus coffee was via my grandmother. The Easter egg for this video is that though it was a bit, it’s funny because it’s true. What my mama says in the video is a verbatim quote from my grandmother, who absolutely loved getting all her grandbabies and great-grandbabies on the coffee milk.
On the analytics side of things “Southern Daughter” is my 2nd reel to go “viral” on the Gram. How fun to do it with mama’s voice and my Nanny’s words. The trick of course it always “okay, now what?” Imposter syndrome kicks in, fear that whatever I do next won’t be as funny or engaging. I question everything, is this funny? Is this relatable? Is this interesting? I don’t know. But I have gotten 1000 followers which is 990 more that I thought I ever would. I’m so grateful!

After consistent bullying from my mother, my husband and I have finally jumped into Yellowstone. We’re still on Season 1 but Beth had me when she got naked and took a bath in a trough with a bottle of champagne. YES MOM, YOU WERE RIGHT!
