Week 42 - XOXO

Well it was Mardi Gras. Did we go to any of the parades this season? No, we did not because the children took turns being sick. Last year we did Tucks and Iris and we had the most fun so I was sad to miss it. Hopefully all the children will be well all at the same time next year.

Valentine’s was also celebrated at home. My husband and I made dinner together and for dessert we had a Caroline’s Cookie Cake. It was quiet and lowkey exactly how I like it. In general I think there’s too much pressure put on Valentine’s day. Crazy PDA’s and extravagant gifts are all just too much. Celebrating love is always a good idea but doing it on a day when you’re *supposed to feels forced. I’d much rather a bouquet of market flowers on a random day just because. BUT THAT’S JUST ME.

Filming this week took a backseat due to the sicknesses and and them being home for Mardi Gras break. I spent the week moming and parenting instead. By Friday, the kids were all better and we met up with some friends at Surge Entertainment for the first time. Everyone had so much fun and the food was actually pretty good!

Sunday was blessedly slow. We spent the day getting the house in order and preparing to go back to school after a week off. Hopefully with the kids back in school I can get back to my filming.

  • The Bachelor - I am already looking forward to the Women Tell All and Sydney having to explain herself.

Yellowstone Season 1 still - Slowly working through it. My heart just breaks for Beth, she’s in so much pain.

  • Looking Glass Sound by Catriona Ward - Very interesting and different read. Someone on Goodreads called it a brain-bend and that’s exactly what it is.

My Darling Girl by Jennifer McMahon - This was so dark and twisty. A fun domestic thriller read with a supernatural twist, I really enjoyed it.

  • Even the Royals Podcast, Marie Antoinette episodes - Loved this! I thought I was a Marie fan but I learned so much I didn’t know. I had zero idea about the diamond necklace debacle. Highly recommend!

    DeuxU Podcast - Permanent plug!

  • Valentine’s dinner at home! Pan seared steaks with herb butter, grilled veggies, rosemary fries, and glazed carrots!

  • Caroline’s Cookies Valentine’s Cookie Cake - Absolutely delicious, as always.

Haus Labs Foundation and Concealer - So excited to try these out!

Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Lip Balm in Haze - Saw it on the tok and decided I had to have it!

Love me, love me, say that you love me!
