Week 11 - Nanny BeBe

I’ve been on Threads for a week and have enjoyed every minute. I’ve enjoyed finding those voices from Twitter that I’ve been missing. I tried to follow some of their Substacks and Instagrams but it just wasn’t the same to me. I really like the thought bubble format. I love rediscovering all my favorite thought leaders and even discovering some new ones. All the brands are having an absolute field day with it and that’s been the most fun of all.

I can tell you that I have indeed downloaded the Youtube App on my phone. Thinking of going back and trimming some of my videos and playing around with editing before posting but we’ll see.

It’s still so fascinating to me to see how differently the same videos perform on the different platforms. Lately, Instagram’s been performing better but that seems to change every couple days. I’ve been playing around with my styles of content and posting times and it all just feels like one big puzzle. As always, I definitely don’t have a plan or any idea what I’m doing.

Still working on remembering to take pictures throughout my week. I am absolutely fascinated when I see influencers and celebrities photo dumps on Instagram and there’s the typical selfie shots, group shots of everyone looking gorgeous, gorgeous restaurants, hotels, venues, ect and then to keep things interesting they’ll throw in something absolutely wild to make them look artsy and edgy, like a tiny flower growing in the sidewalk cracks or a super close-up of a takeout bag. I think I need to be doing more of that and also all the rest. Just more of everything in general.

In other news the aged filter on TikTok is absolutely everything. I’m obsessed with her and the people have spoken. Nanny BeBe is born. Look out for more from her in the future!

Only 2 weeks left until back to school for us. Trying to make the absolute most out of it and squeeze out every last bit of summer. How are you spending these last couple of weeks?

  • Season 2 of The Bear. I could spend maybe 3 hours straight talking about how much I love this show but I’ll spare you. All you really need to know is that *without exaggeration or hyperbole, it is without a doubt the greatest show on television right now. It just is. The casting is superior, the writing could not be better if it tried. The storytelling is condensed and tight. Nothing is in there that shouldn’t be. The fishes and forks episodes are the most compelling hours of television. Fishes will absolutely shatter your heart and Forks will put it back together again. This show should be nominated for absolutely everything under the sun probably including an Oscar for Best Short Film for Fishes. (Yes I know that’s not how it works, I don’t care). It’s so intelligent, it’s well done. It’s a love letter to Chicago and nothing else comes close. Watch it and thank me later. If you already do watch it, we’re halfway to best friends.

I’ve also begun The New Real Housewives of New York…it’s about balance for me.

  • Yes, I finally did finish Apples Never Fall! It was soooo good! I really did enjoy it. Interesting look at a families dynamics.

  • DeuxMoi - Always

Scamanda Podcast - I’m only 2 episodes in but it is absolutely riveting. I mostly listen to my podcasts when I’m out walking but I’m desperately trying to find little pockets of time so I can hear more.

  • Homemade Pizza using dough, sauce, and cheese, from Trader Joe’s. My kids loving rolling out the dough and adding all the ingredients. Easy and fun.

  • We did take advantage of Amazon Prime Day to upgrade and trade-in our old Echo devices for new and improved ones. Other than that I had severe decision fatigue and overwhelm and wasn’t able to snag any more “deals.”

I did buy my 3rd tube of Weleda Skin Food Light. I’m obsessed with it and the way it makes my skin feel.

Versed Gentle Retinol Body Lotion - I am loving this for my neck, my chest, and my hands. Everybody focuses on the face but we can’t forget about the rest of of our skin!

She lives in a rundown castle in the middle of Europe...she goes to the market on Saturdays, buys her vegetables and puts em in a basket.
