Week 44 - Party Girl

It was officially mom’s birthday and yall know good and well I got a cookie cake from Caroline’s. Because that is how *I wanted to celebrate and as an only child I can make those calls. I got the Vanilla Sprinkle because a few weeks ago we did the Chocolate Chip for Valentine’s Day and I will be working my way through that menu. For dinner we had Tieghan’s Tortellini Bolognese which is my oldest boy’s new favorite meal. Yes, I did talk about dessert before dinner. Did you expect different?

Mom left on Wednesday which is always sad. I miss her lots when she leaves. There’s no gift in this world quite like present grandparents. Saturday I went to a Soups and Sips party which maybe my new favorite thing. Soup and cocktails potluck? Uh, yes. All you really need to know is that someone brought a gallon jug full of pre-mixed fuzzy navels and they did not disappoint. Immediately following I went out with the mom friends for tacos and margaritas so when I tell you Sunday was a day of REST, you understand.

I got busy/lazy with my filming again. When life gets busy I find I have no motivation to film. I’m too tired, I can’t think, let alone be funny. I continue to be in awe of real influencers who post daily or multiple times daily. It’s so impressive. Lack of filming and posting aside, Southern Daughter continues to steadily bring in more likes, views, and follows and I continue to be excited by it.

  • The Bachelor - I’ve never been to Montreal but it looks absolutely gorgeous and I’m desperate to go.

Mrs Doubtfire - An oldie but a goodie! Finally got to share this gem with my oldest boy and it was such a treat. Also I can’t believe how many jokes I missed.

  • The Guest by B.A. Paris. - I have never fully recovered from the hangover I got from Behind Closed Doors. I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved that book (no, I don’t care to analyze what this must mean about me and my psyche). As such, B.A. Paris quickly rose to the top of my favorite author list. All that to say, I wanted to give her new release the respect it deserved. I held back on purpose so that I could savor it as long as I could. Dark and twisty like I like it. Highly recommend.

  • I’m still deep in my podcast drought. I gave up and tried an audiobook (which shall remain nameless) but that was awful too. When all else fails, Taylor’s discography continues to slap.

    DeuxU Podcast - Permanent plug!

  • Tortellini Bolognese by Half Baked Harvest - I cannot begin to say enough good things about this recipe. I’ve made it twice already. My boys absolutely love it and I do too. So delicious and comforting.

  • Birthday Cookie Cake from Caroline’s Cookies. Criminally good.

tomtoc 360 Protective Puffy Laptop Sleeve for my new computer. It’s sturdier than I thought it would be which is amazing.

Happy Birthday Mama!
