Week 33 - Santa's Elves

When I tell you I am scrambling to do all the things. I beginning to get anxiety producing emails from retailers telling me that today is the last day for me to order if I want gifts by Christmas which is amazing because December just started yesterday. How can I possibly be behind when it just started?

Making the Christmas magic is a full time job and what I do not need is one more task added to my already extensive daily to do list. This is why I say a full-throated, full-hearted big fat no to Elf on the Shelf. I love it for the people who love it and love doing it but I am already overwhelmed and I cannot imagine having to keep up with the daily comings and goings of a tiny Christmas elf. No thank you. Know thyself. This one is not for me. Based on the likes and comments from my followers it appears as though I am not alone. Y’all we are tired. It’s hard enough already, why make it harder? I would like to talk whoever it is that thinks they have it all together, who’ve planned weeks and months in advance, and can be everywhere, for everybody, all at once. What is your secret? Tell me your ways.

I still haven’t reached productivity but I have posted one video this week which progress over the last so I’ll take it.

  • The Killer (Netflix) - I loved this. I loved this so much. It’s David Fincher and Michael Fassbender, that’s all anyone needs to know. I loved that the majority of the movie was this interior dialogue. So just good.

  • The Disinvited Guest by Carol Goodman - An atmospheric mystery set on a desolate island in Maine. Calling it a thriller would be a step to far but I did enjoy the jumps from present day to the diary entries.

  • Unrestorable Podcast - This was a hard one. I binged all the episodes. True crime is a mostly unrewarding genre. Not all the bad guys get caught or get justice. I was infuriated listening to this. This pain of this man is palpable. As difficult as it is, it’s absolutely worth a listen. I don’t know the answers here but it’s gotten me thinking about mental health, rehabilitation, defendants rights but also the rights of the victims.

    DeuxU Podcast - Permanent plug!

  • Crockpot Creamy Broccoli Cheddar Chicken by Half Baked Harvest - I made this again and it was just as good as the first time. Served with sliced and buttered sourdough bread. Kid approved!!!

  • Just because I’m an all important, very fancy influencer doesn’t mean I cannot also be influenced. Guilty as charged. For my husband…

Allbirds Tree Runners - Is it as amazing as everyone says it is? I don’t know, my husband will have to tell us.

Vuori Sunday Performance Joggers - Same as above but the fabric is so soft and delicious I am considering ordering me a pair.

Elf on whose shelf? Not mine!
