Week 32 - Nada

This week was fun and exciting because I posted exactly nothing. Not one video did I post this week. First time that’s happened since I started all this mess. I am deep in mom mode, my time is not my own. I have a limited number of hours to get things done in a day and I have not been able to squeeze the time to film and edit. If I had more time to sit and think, I’d realize how much I miss it and immediately get to work starting to make more hours in the day. I’d soon realize I’m not God and just vow to do better next week.

As much as I miss filming and interacting with followers, I don’t regret being present for my children and participating in their extracurriculars. I don’t want to miss anything as much as I can help it. When they’re grown, I want them to look back and remember me just “being there.” This is struggle of the so called work life balance. I don’t think there’s such a thing. There’s give and take. Some days are work heavy, some days are family heavy, and as parents, we get whatever’s leftover at the end of the day. Some days it’s not much. Some days it’s just a quick shower and crawling into bed, asleep in 30 seconds, and awake in what feels like 5 minutes to start the day all over again. The days are long and the years are short they say. Why does it feel like the days are short as well? Like sand through the hourglass, I feel like I’m actually bleeding time.

Maybe this down time is good for me. I haven’t had time to think or plan but I want to. I need to. The new year is around the corner and I need to figure next steps. Retool my schedule and figure out what works.

  • RHOBH - I really do sense a change in Erika this season. Garcelle is a forever fav. I am LOVING Crystal this season. She has really found her footing and is so delightfully funny. The Kyle and Sutton thing is painful. Kyle is really going through it and it’s hard to watch at times. Loving the cameos from our previous leading ladies!

The Amazing Race!! - I have absolutely loved this season. I have loved all the teams and think everyone’s run a great race. I’m excited and happy for which ever team wins which isn’t always the case! I’ve had strong feelings about teams in the past.

  • The Possibilities by Yael Goldstein-Love - This wasn’t exactly the thriller I wanted it to be. It’s a little more whimsical sci-fi nightmare but nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it and finished it quickly.

What the Neighbors Saw by Melissa Adelman - I really loved this. The neighborhood, the women and lives were illustrated so well. It played like a movie in my head. I read this in maybe 2 days, I couldn’t put it down.

Of the 2 I read this week, I’d highly recommend What the Neighbors Saw!

  • Ghost Story Podcast - I know we are well out of spooky season and deep into the holidays but I saw this on a recommended list and dove right in. I binged the whole thing. To me this was less a ghost story and more a family drama. What made it different were the high stakes for the host. It’s about his wife’s family and he feels the entire weight of every truth and lie uncovered.

    DeuxU Podcast - Permanent plug!

  • Lemon Rosemary Dijon Chicken by Half Baked Harvest - I love this meal. Rich and hearty as basically all HBH meals are. Perfect for fall and winter.

  • Dirty Santa Gifts! I like to strike a balance between fun and practical.

Prosecco Pong Game! Who doesn’t want to play a rousing game of prosecco pong on New Years?!

Portable Neck Fan! People are going to fight over this one. The runners, the Disney folks, the ones who work outside…easy yes.

I just can’t.
