Week 26 - Fall Things
I spent the week running around preparing for Halloween, cobbling together thrifted costumes, picking up bags of candy and 50% off decorations. The weekend was jam packed with activities including a Corn Maze and Trick or Treating down the Row at LSU. Despite booking the early morning time slot, it got hot quick. I was sweating through my flannel and my jeans, regretting my poor life decisions all before 10A. I love the Corn Maze, we go to one every year. I love the tractor rides, the corn maze, hay bales, pumpkin patches, it has all the fall trappings except for a cool breeze. I love Louisiana I do, I just miss a northern fall so much I can’t stand it. If Louisiana had actual seasons, I would probably never leave.
Trick or Treating the row was somewhat better. Most of the street had shade from the trees but even still it was rather sweaty. The students were wonderful as they always are. I don’t know who has more fun, the students, the kids, or myself. I had so much fun in fact I considered going back to college so that I could Rush. My husband reminded me of my age and also my family and brought me back down to Earth.
I have long since given up on predicting what videos will do well on what app. I am wrong 100 percent of the time. If it doesn’t do so well on Instagram, it works great for Tiktok and vice versa. I question whether the videos are too short, too long, not enough jokes, too many, or not funny enough and I proven wrong almost 100% of the time. I need to work on not overthinking and just putting out more and being more consistent, rather than limiting myself and counting myself out before trying. Perfectionism creeps in and I have a hard time letting go and just seeing what will happen.
Next week is another busy one, Halloween and Anniversary amongst other things. We also are supposed to have a cold front coming through and I for one could not be more excited.

RHONY - Reunion Pt 2. Here’s the thing. I love all these ladies. They all have their flaws and quirks but I love and adore them all. What an excellent cast. I’m eagerly awaiting season 2.
RHOSLC - Still catching up. Oh Monica. I hurts watching her go through it with her mom. That dinner was so painful to watch. However, I loved watching her and Heather bond. Angie and Meredith is something. I can’t even keep up. I can’t and I won’t with Mary and Whitney’s “lunch.” I love Lisa. I do. I can’t help it.
Overlord - I do not know how I missed this when it came out but we watched it and I absolutely loved it. So well done, worth your time.

What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall. I just finished this and I really enjoyed it. Multiple twists that I didn’t see coming. I didn’t want to put it down.
-
Dark House Podcast - I love these girls and I have enjoyed every house and every guest interview and bonus episode. My favorites from this past week were The Watcher House, 1000 Lombard Street, and the Smurl House.

My mom made the most amazing French Dip sandwiches. She slow cooked beef on the stove for 3 hours. Buttered and toasted french bread, provolone cheese. It was sooooo good.

Last minute needs for our family photoshoot. New tapered jeans and sweater for my husband. Boots and a belt for me. Shoes for my middle child. Every year I think I’ve got everything well in advance and always without fail the day before or day of I run out to get a few things.
