Started from the bottom!…and we are still there!

I’ve been thinking long and hard about becoming an influencer, a content creator if you will. Get paid to live life, look pretty, travel the world, be fancy, get free things? Yes. Sign me up please. So I’ve decided to embark on this journey and do all that. How hard could it possibly be?

I decided this past week to finally give it a go and jump all in head first. After the barest minimum research I concluded the quickest way to success and fame would be to join the TikTok. Lord help me yall, I had to google how to use it, so we’re already off to a great start. I have only scratched the surface and haven’t begun to discover all the functions on it. I’ve posted my first 7 videos and trying to learn about the algorithm and the hashtags. Apparently one wants to use a popular hashtag so that you can be found, but not too popular because everyone’s using it and thus no one will be able to find you. DO use hashtags but DON’T use too many or else it’s spammy. Don’t use external editing software but actually, just kidding, it didn’t matter for this person who got a million views on that one video.

And so on.

Basically, as far as I can tell, nobody knows how any of it works. Which is fantastic because I definitely don’t either.

I have spreadsheets and google docs trying to keep track of all my ideas and scheduling. I’m trying to build a routine for filming and editing, which as it turns out is hard to do with a bunch of children running around.

I am having lots of fun though! Which is great because otherwise what’s even the point?
