Week 46 - Pro Procrastinator

After procrastinating for a couple months I finally booked an appointment with the eye doctor. This was fueled by my expired contact lens prescription as well as my oldest son needing new glasses and discovering the buy 2 or more and get 15% off deal at Warby Parker. I find the eye doctor only slightly less stressful than the dentist. For one, I have an irrational fear that he’ll tell me I’m going completely blind and two, the whole “one or two, one or two?” gives me major anxiety and triggers decision fatigue. I second guess my reality and existence. Is it one blurrier than the other? Is it? HOW DO I KNOW? HOW CAN I BE SURE?

To calm myself I went into Costco for the sole mission of buying the largest dog bed I could find for the cheapest price. It was literally the only thing I bought. I could barely lift it onto the cart and it was hanging off either side. I felt like I needed a traffic cop just to guide me through the store, mostly for everyone’s safety. I did wind up making friends with every lady in there wanting to know what kind of dog I had. Never underestimate the sisterhood of dog mamas.

Dog bed home, it took exactly 4 minutes for the little dog to commandeer it. So far the intended still prefers to lay on the floor. I don’t understand.

Armed with my new prescriptions I felt empowered to order a Warby Parker Try-On box. I picked a few frames for my son and a few for me. I absolutely love the freedom and convenience of this model. I don’t feel pressure from sales associates to make a decision right away and I can wear the frames all day if I want to see if I truly do like them. #notanad this is just how I feel!

Coming and going on my walks I looked up and noticed my lavender in bloom! I planted it early last summer, immediately battled months long drought and heat waves, followed by multiple hard freezes over the winter and to see it survive and bloom makes me so happy. This is what they are talking about when they mean “it’s the little things.”

Also, it was St Patrick’s Day. Happy St Patrick’s Day.
