Week 19 - 500

BamaRush had another successful week on the Gram. It’s so interesting the difference between the Instagram/TikTok algorithms. My Area Codes tiktok had a much shorter life span, and while BamaRush has definitely slowed, it’s not as much as I would have thought. In my efforts to keep things moving, I posted about the game I play at Sephora when picking out my free birthday gift. The one where I act shocked that it’s my birthday as if it wasn’t my whole purpose and reason for being there in the first place and this has become my second most popular Instagram I’ve ever posted. It was such a treat opening my notifications and seeing equal interactions for both my BamaRush and Sephora reels. It was the first time I had two popular ones going at once. I love the likes and views but I really, really love the comments and interacting with people. I especially love when someone plays along with my nonsense and says something equally hilarious. It absolutely makes my day and is a big part of what I envisioned when starting this venture. So between those two, I somehow hit over 500 followers this past week. My first account to do so. With both Instagram and TikTok combined, I’m at over 1000. It’s scary and intimidating but also incredibly exciting. I’ve been working at this for the past 4.5 months now and I’m just so grateful for every last person who’s spent even the smallest fraction of their day with me on the internets.

This weekend was full of fun. We did what I call an “adventure day,” with the kids. We explored City Park and shared beignets. We did the Louisiana Children’s Museum which was so delightful. My boys especially loved playing outside with the instruments and also the sandpit. I quickly dropped by Home Malone to pick something up and from there we went to Bourrée and had some of the best food. Nothing was average. Absolutely all of it was delicious, even down to their house seasoned fries. I’m already dreaming of going back and trying their boudin grilled cheese. To cap off our perfect day, we debated between ice cream or snoballs. Ice cream won and so off to Creole Creamery we went. I chose the best of both worlds and got the nectar flavored sherbet and it did not disappoint. Beginning to end, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I’m already looking forward to our next adventure day and what kind of trouble we can get up to.
